We’re headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (Four days/ week in-office).</p></div><h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2> <p>Site Reliability Engineering’s Developer Experience (DX) squad is a key partner across the organization, dedicated to enabling smooth, efficient, and reliable workflows for engineers at every stage of the development lifecycle.</p> <p>We do this by building tools for our development teams, improving reliability and performance of our systems, and enabling monitoring and visibility into our services. This helps us move faster and smarter within a highly regulated and secure environment. We leverage a number of technologies to power our tools and platform, including AWS, Datadog, CircleCI, and write our code in Ruby on Rails and Go. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the DX squad, you'll help deliver new tools and systems that make engineering more impactful as well as maintain and improve current systems alongside a team of amazing engineers.</p> <p>This role is based out of our NYC office. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Monday through Thursday, weekly. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.</p> <h2><strong>A day in the life</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Create semantically rich abstractions for every aspect of development</li> <li>Maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines</li> <li>Manage and optimize developer toolsets and environments</li> <li>Implement and monitor service-level objectives and indicators</li> <li>Oversee repositories for compiled code or binaries, like Artifactory or GitHub Packages</li> <li>Make substantial code contributions to our applications and systems</li> <li>Weigh in on design documents and perform code review, providing valuable and actionable feedback to peers</li> <li>Participate in on call cycles and help drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement</li> <li>Collaborate with purpose. You’ll work in small groups with other talented thinkers and figure out how to make Betterment’s revolutionary software even better.</li> <li>Find ways to spread knowledge across the organization, leveling up engineering practices and mentoring other engineers.</li> <li>Work with people who care.
