Senior Engineering Manager (Biometric Authentication)

This team owns the BioAuth product end to end: mobile SDKs (iOS, Android, Web), high-scale backend infrastructure (face retrieval, matching, storage at large-scale), and the integration layer that brings ML models into production.</p> <p>You'll lead a high-performing team of Software Engineers, Mobile Developers, and ML Engineers building production biometric systems. Working closely with Product, Data Science, ML Platform, Fraud and Legal teams, you'll ensure we deliver secure, performant, privacy-preserving authentication experiences across millions of users worldwide.</p> <p>Join us if you're ready to build scalable product infrastructure, ship mobile SDKs used by top companies, architect high-throughput biometric systems, and help Veriff become the trust authority for the digital age.</p> <p><strong>You’ll help us protect honest people online by:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Leading, growing, and developing a high-performing cross-functional engineering team responsible for the end-to-end biometric authentication product — from mobile SDKs to backend infrastructure.</li> <li>Defining the team's structure and evolution as it scales, establishing strong engineering practices, clear ownership, and measurable delivery outcomes.</li> <li>Owning the end-to-end delivery of bioauth product features — including iOS, Android, and Web SDKs, backend services for face retrieval and matching at large-scale, and integration with ML models in production.</li> <li>Building and scaling high-performance infrastructure for biometric operations: face encoding storage, fast retrieval systems, matching pipelines, and real-time liveness verification.</li> <li>Partnering with Product leadership to define authentication strategy, influence technical architecture, and ensure go-to-market readiness.</li> <li>Driving initiatives that bring core biometric capabilities in-house, reducing third-party dependencies and increasing control over performance, cost, and innovation velocity.</li> <li>Collaborating with Data Science teams to productionize ML models — integrating face recognition, liveness detection, and anti-spoofing models into mobile and backend systems.</li> <li>Ensuring operational excellence: building robust monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and incident response practices across all systems.</li> <li>Working with Legal and Compliance to ensure privacy-first architecture, GDPR compliance, and responsible handling of biometric data.</li> <li>Building a team culture centered on technical excellence, collaboration, ownership, and customer impact.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You are the right future Veriffian for the job if:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You bring strong technical leadership in software engineering, mobile development, or platform engineering — and are passionate about building production systems that solve real-world identity and trust challenges.</li> <li>You've built or led teams responsible for end-to-end product delivery, including mobile SDKs, and backend services</li> <li>You're comfortable in high-growth environments and have experience designing systems that scale with product adoption — both technically and organizationally.</li> <li>You balance technical depth with people leadership, and can guide teams through ambiguity while ma ...
