In this role, you will bridge the gap between product innovation and regulatory excellence, ensuring our technology is built with privacy at its core while maintaining and enhancing Veriff’s global data protection framework.</p> <h3>You’ll help us protect honest people online by:</h3> <ul> <li>Serving as the legal point of contact for designated Product Areas, providing actionable advice on legal and privacy risks, compliance strategies, and supplier engagements.</li> <li>Executing privacy-by-design initiatives, ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle, and drafting the necessary legal documentation.</li> <li>Managing and owning data privacy compliance workflows, including the creation and review of DPAs, DPIAs, LIAs, privacy policies, and public-facing privacy notices.</li> <li>Supporting privacy negotiations with customers and suppliers, ensuring Veriff’s interests and obligations are clearly represented.</li> <li>Monitoring and analyzing emerging legislation, policies, and legal frameworks (e.g., AI laws) relevant to Veriff’s business.</li> <li>Advising on global privacy developments and their impact on our product roadmap and international operations.</li> <li>Creating and delivering training materials, guidelines, and internal policies to foster a culture of privacy and compliance.</li> <li>Collaborating with outside counsel on specialized jurisdictional or technical legal matters.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in privacy and data protection (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD), preferably within an international SaaS (B2B/B2C) environment as an in-house lawyer.</li> <li>A Master’s degree in Law (or equivalent).</li> <li>A proven track record of advising product and engineering teams from ideation to launch, including ongoing compliance monitoring and change management, balancing legal risk with business goals.</li> <li>Strong organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a multi-jurisdictional, fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Clear communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and structured approach to complex legal challenges.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>You’re an especially awesome match if you have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Technical literacy regarding cloud-based SaaS, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and APIs.</li> <li>Experience advising on sensitive data categories, specifically biometrics or identity verification technologies.</li> <li>A background in regulated or compliance-heavy tech industries, for example fintechs.</li> <li>Recognized certifications such as IAPP (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM) or other privacy-related credentials.</li> </ul> </div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong data-stringify-type="bold">Why Veriff?</strong></div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"> </div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"> <div class="p-rich_text_section">We are the preferred identity verification platform partner for the world’s most innovative growth-driven organizations helping conveniently verify and safeguard users anywhere in the world.
