</div></div><p>We are looking for a Director of Design to lead the experience for our content ecosystem including community builders, our users, and our developers. You will nurture Reddit into a unique, thriving ecosystem of conversations that brings human experiences to life across any topic you can imagine, and cultivate belonging for users. You’ll work across three different areas, including our moderator-facing products, our user profile features for various user types, and our developer platform. </p>
<p>As a Director of Design, you will not only define a cohesive strategy across the Reddit consumer experience but also serve as a key pillar of the Reddit UX organization. You will be responsible for looking around the corners to forecast critical user needs and business needs, acting as a creative innovator and change driver to deliver significantly positive impact.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Strategic Leadership:</strong> Create and drive end-to-end UX strategy that aligns with Reddit’s brand identity and mission.</li>
<li><strong>Organizational Design Scaling:</strong> Lead and manage a high-performing team of designers, including sr manager. </li>
<li><strong>Cross-Functional (XFN) Impact:</strong> Drive org-wide initiatives with significant product enhancements for users and Reddit, partnering deeply with Engineering, Product, and Research.</li>
<li><strong>Operational Excellence:</strong> Own the quality of the user experience and the efficiency of the design organization by enhancing design systems and high-impact delivery workflows.</li>
<li><strong>Executive Influence:</strong> Effectively communicate and influence at all levels across different functions, including senior executives, to champion user-centric solutions</li>
<li><strong>Change Management:</strong> Exhibit a "Reddit-first" attitude, showing the ability to quickly change course or pivot functions to support rapidly changing business priorities.</li>
<li><strong>Mentorship Growth:</strong> Foster a culture of "Great Performing Snoos" by developing talent and building high-performing teams that embody Reddit’s leadership principles.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>13+ years of relevant design experience. </li>
<li>Minimum 5+ years of previous experience managing a team(s) of 15+ designers</li>
<li>A world-class portfolio demonstrating design strategy and systems for consumer-facing products at scale.</li>
<li>Proven experience driving company-wide strategic initiatives and XFN roadmapping with significant business impact.</li>
<li>Ability to build solutions from first principles in ambiguous situations and elevate the performance of the entire Leadership Team.</li>
<li>A strong sense of user empathy.</li>
<li>Humble, driven, and motivated to ship the best product.</li>
