This is an exciting opportunity to impact the scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of Temporal's networking infrastructure while growing your technical expertise.<em> [Click <a href="https://temporalio.notion.site/Join-the-Traffic-Team-at-Temporal-2e98fc56773880f3b8f5f5d35f23d82a?pvs=74">here</a> to see more detail on our Traffic Team]</em></p> <h2><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Invent</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Design and develop systems that optimize network traffic and support global expansion.</li> <li>Contribute to architectural decisions for high-impact projects, ensuring scalability and reliability.</li> <li>Participate in technical roadmap discussions for network scalability, performance, and engineering velocity.</li> <li>Uphold a culture of engineering and operational excellence.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Own</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Partner with engineering, product, and security teams to align on network infrastructure goals.</li> <li>Participate in design reviews for critical projects with attention to system-level tradeoffs and network scalability.</li> <li>Implement "secure by default" network systems in collaboration with security teams.</li> <li>Engage with customers and internal teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective solutions.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Learn</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Develop expertise in leveraging Temporal's software to build and scale networking infrastructure.</li> <li>Gather insights into customer needs and incorporate them into technical decision-making for traffic management and networking strategies.</li> <li>Stay current with technology advancements in traffic management, networking, and cloud orchestration.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Collaborate</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Share best practices and design principles for building reliable and scalable networking systems.</li> <li>Work closely with teammates to ensure roadmaps are cohesive and deliverables are on track.</li> <li>Contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience working on engineering efforts focused on network traffic management, network optimization, or cloud orchestration.</li> <li>Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.</li> <li>Experience contributing to technical planning and making system-level tradeoffs.</li> <li>At least 5+ years of coding experience in languages like Go, Java, or similar, with experience writing concurrent and distributed code.</li> <li>Experience designing and building distributed systems, leveraging concurrency primitives, and optimizing network performance.</li> <li>Solid understanding of traffic and networking systems, w ...
