If you have a passion for improving the developer experience, building world-class open-source software and communities, and want to be a part of our amazing team, we'd love to hear from you!</div></div><h3><strong>Summary</strong></h3> <p>The Staff Developer Advocate at Temporal Technologies will be the voice and face of our developer community in the Platform Engineering space. This role involves producing high-quality technical content, engaging with developers, and gathering feedback for product development. The successful candidate will drive developer engagement and contribute to the growth of our open-source community.</p> <p>We’re looking for someone with deep experience with self-service developer platforms, such as those built on Kubernetes, and with that comes a strong background in distributed systems. We need you to be able to speak the same language as other Platform Engineers - Infrastructure as code, CI and CD, progressive delivery, GitOps and more - and help them to both bring Temporal into their own platforms, as well as help them to enable their own internal development teams on using Temporal.</p> <h3><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Build Apps: </strong>Architect and develop sample applications that developers can use and explore to understand Temporal’s place in the developer ecosystem. </li> <li><strong>Event Participation</strong>: Speak at and support developer events and conferences, especially with a Platform Engineering focus, with occasional travel.</li> <li><strong>Create Technical Content</strong>: Produce high-quality technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, guides, diagrams, workshops, and videos targeted at our core audiences.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate with Teams:</strong> Work closely with Developer Relations, Engineering and Marketing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality content and community engagement.</li> <li><strong>Community Engagement:</strong> Actively engage with the local developer community and represent Temporal through in-person events, as well as digital channels such as our Community Slack, forums, and social media. </li> <li><strong>Feedback Loop:</strong> Gather feedback from the community to influence product development and improve developer experience.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What You’ll Bring:</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Educational Background:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong focus on distributed systems.</li> <li><strong>Mentorship Skills</strong>: Experience mentoring others in a formal capacity, volunteer or otherwise. </li> <li><strong>Technical Skills:</strong> Proficiency in one or more of our SDK languages, distributed systems, state management, and workflow execution.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Nice to have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Strong existing local network of developers and other developer relations professionals.</li> <li>We will prioritize candidates with an existing track record of speaking and engaging in relevant developer communities.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Compensation:</strong></h3> <div> <ul> <li>The estimated pay range for this role is $1 ...
