ABOUT THE ROLE: Confluent is seeking a dynamic Director of Growth & Event Strategy to lead our global demand generation events strategy. This role provides an outstanding opportunity to create a significant impact within a fast-growing business. You will drive the strategic events demand generation process, aligning with internal stakeholders to enhance attendance and achieve event goals. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Audience Acquisition Strategy: - Identify target audiences and develop segmentation strategies based on attendee personas. - Create and implement audience acquisition campaigns to promote and drive event registration and attendance. - Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to map out tasks and set expectations for audience engagement. Promotional Positioning & Messaging: - Develop the campaign strategy and creation of promotional content across web, email, digital, and social. - Partner with the content team to develop clear value propositions and messaging that effectively communicate the benefits of our events. - Ensure all promotional materials align with brand standards by collaborating with internal creative teams. Sales Enablement: - Collaborate with Field Marketing, Sales, and Sales Enablement leads to equip internal teams with effective tools and information to drive event registration and attendance. - Develop sales tools, internal communication plans, and strategies to engage and activate sales to drive registration to events. - Lead post-event follow-up strategy and plan in partnership with Marketing Operations, SDR Teams, Campaigns, and Field Marketing. Performance Measurement: - Analyze event performance metrics, including MQLs (Marketing Qualified Leads), pipeline contributions, attendance rates, and engagement. - Collaborate with the analytics team to assess the effectiveness of event campaigns and identify areas for improvement. - Prepare and present reports on campaign outcomes to inform future event strategies and adjustments. Team Collaboration & Support: - Role / Support: In addition to leading major flagship initiatives (like Current), this role is expected to provide cross-functional support for the broader Events Team portfolio, contributing to the success of various global event initiatives as needed. WHAT YOU WILL BRING: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. - 8-10+ years in events marketing, with a strong record in planning and executing impactful global demand generation strategies for first party events (self hosted) - Strong analytical abilities and a data driven mindset to inform strategy. - Proven experience managing cross-functional collaboration and leading teams. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster partnerships. - Knowledge of Marketo, Tableau and Salesforce is essential.
