Senior Localization Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Localization Engineer based in India to join the Global Localization Team, supporting localization for our portfolio of products and services.</p> <p>In this role, you will be designing and implementing streamlined solutions across various technology stacks and system architectures. You will be collaborating closely with developers and product managers and articulating technical solutions to stakeholders, as well as managing and scaling existing workflows across specific product lines.</p> <p>This full time position, reports to the Senior Manager of Localization. You will work closely with other localization engineers and project managers who operate with a high degree of autonomy, aligned with established direction and priorities.</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish foundational localization workflows by creating and sustaining a core automation framework</li> <li>Provide guidance on standard methodologies for localization of applications and online services</li> <li>Platform agnostic scripting, source control automation, and optimizing and troubleshooting complex automation pipelines.</li> <li>Perform analysis of new features and products to ensure they are i18n ready and, and the source content is clear and ready for translation</li> <li>Maintaining and optimizing the linguistic infrastructure, including Translation Memories (TMs), Term Base (TBs), and Machine Translation (MT) engines.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven, hands-on experience with Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as (Phrase, SDL, Smartling, etc…), including the ability to automate project workflows through the use of out-of-the-box connectors or custom API plugins.</li> <li>Expert-level proficiency in a platform-agnostic scripting language, such as Python or JavaScript.</li> <li>Practical experience in localization engineering for both client-side and web applications.</li> <li>Strong written communication skills with experience in authoring technical framework specifications to educate development teams on common localization challenges and effective solutions.</li> <li>Ability to clearly articulate complex technical ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You might also have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience navigating a complete software development life cycle</li> <li>Experience in implementing GenAI-driven workflows to improve translation efficiency and quality estimation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional information</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relocation support is not available for this position</li> <li>Work visa/immigration sponsorship is not available for this position</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong><br>At Unity, we want our team members to thrive.
