The Core Platforms & Services organization is the engine behind this ecosystem, responsible for the development and operations of the critical cloud infrastructure and SaaS services that support our global public safety customers. As part of the Global Product organization, we are building the secure, multi-cloud platforms and data foundations needed to harness the full potential of this ecosystem and save lives. Job Description This role serves as the strategic engine for our platform’s connectivity. The Product Manager, API Initiatives is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our API products and preferred platform integrations—bridging the gap between high-level strategic partnerships and technical execution. They are the primary advocate for our developer experience and the internal systems that power our data exchange, ensuring that our platform remains competitive, scalable, and easy to integrate with. Key Responsibilities : 1. API Product Management & Execution Execution Leadership: Own the roadmap and delivery for preferred platform integrations. Technical Proposals: Develop API proposals and work hand-in-hand with engineering and product stakeholders to bring these specifications to life. Internal Tooling: Lead the product vision for internal operational systems, enabling teams to seamlessly add, maintain, and report on API usage and performance. 2. Ecosystem & Operations Oversight Developer Experience: Collaborate with the Developer Program experiences provide a frictionless, intuitive experience that reflects our integration strategy. Project Governance: Partner with program management operations to track development progress and ensure solutions are delivered on time and to specification. Usage Analytics: Manage the reporting frameworks that provide visibility into how our APIs are being utilized by partners and third-party developers. 3. Integration Strategy & Opportunity Assessment Identify Opportunities: Act as the primary scout for new integration possibilities that align with market trends and user needs. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the partnership and product teams to evaluate incoming requests and market gaps. Feasibility & Solutions: Conduct opportunity assessments, collaborating with core product teams to design viable technical solutions that meet business goals. Skills & Qualifications Technical Product Expertise: Proven experience in product management with a focus on APIs, platform integrations, or middleware. Strategic Collaboration: The ability to sit with Partnership leaders to evaluate business deals and then pivot to Engineering to discuss technical feasibility. Systems Thinking: Experience managing internal operational tools or developer-facing platforms (DevPortals). Analytical Mindset: Comfortable using data to report on API usage, performance, and the success of various integration partners. Documentation & Design: Strong skills in drafting technical proposals, flowcharts, and functional requirements for engineering teams.
