Job Requisition ID # 25WD94306 Position Overview We’re expanding our Civil Infrastructure Product Line Group in India and establishing multiple engineering teams to deliver the next generation of desktop and cloud-connected civil design tools. These teams form a core part of Autodesk’s Civil 3D technology stack and the broader transportation, land development, and digital delivery ecosystem. As a Principal Product Owner, you’ll guide one or more engineering teams while also contributing to the broader product direction across transportation and land development workflows. You’ll translate customer needs, industry requirements, and business objectives into clear plans that help shape team roadmaps. This role demands strong domain knowledge, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and the judgement to make trade-offs that balance customer value, technical feasibility, and long-term platform direction. You’ll work closely with Product Management, Experience Design, and engineering leaders across global teams. You’ll also engage directly with customers, agencies, and partner organizations to understand real workflows and bring that insight back into planning and execution. This is a hybrid position in Pune, India. You will report to Sr. Group Product Manager. Responsibilities Drive product focus and prioritization across one or more engineering teams, including determining near-term plans and contributing to longer term direction. Gather and analyze customer feedback, competitive insights, and real-world workflows to recommend best-practice approaches and influence backlog strategy. Work closely with Product Management to translate business and customer outcomes into actionable engineering plans and functional specifications. Partner with Engineering Leads and Experience Design to guide solution approaches, validate UX direction, and resolve complex design or technical trade-offs. Collaborate across Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Forma, AutoCAD, Revit, and related platform teams to ensure alignment with cross-team initiatives and shared infrastructure. Represent customer and industry needs in discussions with senior leaders, engineering managers, and partner teams, advocating for the most impactful solutions. Own the team backlog and delivery process but also provide guidance and support to adjacent teams where workflows overlap. Engage directly with customers, including transportation agencies and consulting firms, to validate designs, run workflow reviews, and shape future improvements. Track key usage, telemetry, and performance metrics to identify issues, opportunities, and areas for optimization. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in software, ideally in a civil engineering or infrastructure-focused domain. Strong domain knowledge in transportation, road/highway design, or land development workflows. Proven ability to translate complex, ambiguous workflows into clear, prioritized product direction. Demonstrated experience influencing engineering teams, UX, and cross-functional partners. Ability to evaluate technical approaches and collaborate effectively with architects and senior engineers. Strong written and verbal English communication skills.. Experience balancing business, customer, and technical constraints across multi-team initiatives. Strong problem-solving ability with a track record of recommending best-practice solutions based on real-world insight. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. Ability to travel for customer visits, global team collaboration, and industry events. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with transportation agencies or large civil engineering consultancies. Deep familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks, or competitive civil/transportation tools (OpenRoads, 12d, InRoads, Civil Designer).
