<p data-start="328" data-end="635">We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join the team at Queen's Hospital, Romford. This role will focus on supporting patients within stroke and neurosciences services, providing specialist assessment and intervention in an acute hospital setting.</p>
<p data-start="637" data-end="1021">This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with established dysphagia competencies and experience managing stroke or complex neurological caseloads. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, supporting patient recovery and rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary team.</p>

<h2 data-start="1028" data-end="1053">Key Responsibilities</h2>
<p data-start="1055" data-end="1078">In this role, you will:</p>
<ul data-start="1080" data-end="1725">
<li data-start="1080" data-end="1222">
<p data-start="1082" data-end="1222">Assess, diagnose, and manage adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders within acute stroke and neurosciences services.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1223" data-end="1335">
<p data-start="1225" data-end="1335">Provide specialist dysphagia assessment and intervention in line with national guidelines and best practice.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1336" data-end="1426">
<p data-start="1338" data-end="1426">Manage a defined caseload of patients with stroke and complex neurological conditions.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1427" data-end="1561">
<p data-start="1429" data-end="1561">Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1562" data-end="1635">
<p data-start="1564" data-end="1635">Contribute to discharge planning and ongoing rehabilitation pathways.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1636" data-end="1725">
<p data-start="1638" data-end="1725">Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.</p>

<h2 data-start="1732" data-end="1766">Qualifications and Experience</h2>
<p data-start="1768" data-end="1814">To be considered for this role, you must have:</p>
<ul data-start="1816" data-end="2252">
<li data-start="1816" data-end="1887">
<p data-start="1818" data-end="1887">A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1888" data-end="1988">
<p data-start="1890" data-end="1988">HCPC registration and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1989" data-end="2028">
<p data-start="1991" data-end="2028">Established dysphagia competencies.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2029" data-end="2127">
<p data-start="2031" data-end="2127">Experience working with stroke and/or neurosciences patient caseloads within an acute setting.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2128" data-end="2203">
<p data-start="2130" data-end="2203">Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work independently.</p>
