We deliver on time with high quality & urgency, and we drive decisions with data and transparency while leading with ownership & accountability.    Your Impact Cisco CX Engineering is seeking a Software Development Engineer to drive innovation and develop solutions for customer’s most pressing use case with a focus on incorporating AI and ML. This role requires deep technical expertise in network automation, full-stack development, and applicable AI use-cases. Key Responsibilities: Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications across the full stack (front-end, back-end, and integration layers). Architect and develop robust systems with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance. AI/ML Integration: Incorporate AI and ML-driven features into product solutions, ensuring real-world applicability and responsible AI practices. Teamwork & Process: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality products. Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipeline management. Quality & Security: Conduct thorough code reviews, automated testing, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Ensure adherence to security best practices, code quality, and maintainability standards. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors + 5 years of related experience, or Masters + 3 years of related experience, or PhD + 0 years of related experience. Experience with one of the following programming language Python, Pytest, SQL (preferably Postgres), Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript. 3+ years of experience with microservices, Kubernetes (K8S) clusters, containerization, virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience integrating AI features (e.g., AI-assisted code generation). Knowledge of event-driven architectures (e.g., Apache Kafka) and real-time data pipelines. Experience with RESTful API design, API security, and data modeling (hierarchical and relational). Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience in customer-facing solution delivery or technical support. Exposure to DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Skills in testing, debugging, and technical documentation. 1+ years of experience with version control (Git), system design, and performance optimization. Experience with secrets management (HashiCorp Vault) and object storage solutions (MinIO/S3). Why Cisco?
