Job Description

Are you interested in learning how to consult with and coach Cisco business leaders? As a Leader Consultant/Leader Enablement Expert, you'll work directly with senior leaders, offering hands-on coaching and consultative support to ensure our talent and P&C programs deliver maximum impact. This role will partner closely with the Japan People & Communities Director, acting as a dynamic team to support senior business leaders. You will play an important role in talent and performance programs by facilitating enablement sessions, workshops and by supporting strategic people priorities and key people projects. You will partner with number of stakeholders across the P&C ecosystem: People Partners, Performance@Cisco team, LEaD, People Legal, Employee Relations, Compensation, and other COE teams. Key Responsibilities: Engage and Collaborate: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with the Japan People & Communities Director, functionally aligned people partners, and Japan-based leaders to drive the effective adoption of talent programs. Additionally, provide support for key business transformation initiatives and strategic people-related projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Leader Enablement: Provide one-on-one consulting sessions with leaders to deliver targeted enablement and support. Facilitate leadership development programs designed to empower leaders at all organizational levels. Proactively engage with the business strategy and strategic direction to enhance the impact and relevance of all People & Communities talent programs and recommendations. Workshop and Training Recommendations: Proactively drive leadership and team excellence by recommending and coordinating high-impact workshops, training sessions, and enablement initiatives. These efforts will be seamlessly integrated with talent programs and customized to align with key business priorities, thereby enhancing leadership capabilities and advancing organizational effectiveness. Low Performance Management Guidance: Provide expert, end-to-end guidance and hands-on coaching throughout the performance management process. Partner with leaders at all levels to equip them with effective strategies and the confidence to conduct difficult conversations. Deliver practical tools and techniques to address performance gaps, driving positive outcomes for both individuals and teams. Ensure accurate, timely case management documentation to uphold accountability and reinforce a culture of high performance. Flexibility in Assignments: Demonstrate flexibility by fulfilling the responsibilities outlined above not only within Japan but also in other countries as needed. Additionally, collaborate across various stakeholders within the People & Communities (P&C) organization, including supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities involving newly acquired companies and leaders, managing workforce transitions, and assisting with rewards program initiatives. This role requires adaptability to effectively support diverse business priorities and organizational changes. Minimum Qualifications: Native proficiency in Japanese, coupled with advanced business-level English communication skills. Minimum of 5 years of experience in client-facing or consulting roles within Human Resources, leadership development, or related fields. In-depth knowledge and comprehensive understanding of leader enablement and talent development. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to engage effectively across dynamic, matrixed, and large-scale organizations, collaborating with leaders at all levels. Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities efficiently, balancing operational day-to-day responsibilities with the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
