Manager, Corporate Accounting (STE - 18 month contract)

<p>We are seeking an experienced Manager, Corporate Accounting to be a key leader on the Global Controllership team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, this position will be responsible for month-end close activities, complex accounting areas under US GAAP, consolidation, financial reporting, and external audit support. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with strong leadership skills and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. <br><br><strong>This role is open to remote-applicants in Canada and USA (in Provinces/States where we can hire legally), unless you are near a commuting distance from our Toronto or Vancouver offices. In which case, there would be a hybrid component.</strong></p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage direct reports, including hiring selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management and all other people-management practices, including DEI.</li> <li>Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in a complex, multi-currency environment under US GAAP and IFRS.</li> <li>Oversee full cycle accounting processes, including the review and preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules and variance analysis.</li> <li>Support interim and year-end financial audits, including preparing support documentation, liaising with internal stakeholders and communicating with external auditors.</li> <li>Act as a key member of the team in the development, implementation, and improvement of processes and internal controls.</li> <li>Support the Finance team with strategic initiatives, system implementations, and other special projects as required.</li> <li>Review and provide recommendations to improve and enhance internal procedures and guidelines.</li> <li>Perform other related duties as assigned <strong> </strong><strong> </strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL NEED:</strong><strong><br></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent strongly preferred)</li> <li>8-12 years of progressive accounting experience within a team responsible for full-cycle accounting and month-end close for a complex global organization.</li> <li>Experience in a global software, SaaS, or technology company.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.</li> <li>Proven ability to manage complex close processes and cross-functional stakeholders.</li> <li>Experience with consolidation and accounting for multiple currencies and eliminations.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of internal controls and best practice accounting processes. </li> <li>Experience with various finance systems and tools (NetSuite, Workiva, Salesforce, Zip, Zuora etc.) is an asset. </li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills</li> <li>Inclusive Leadership: Builds inclusive, cohesive teams which apply diversity to achieve common goals</li> <li>Play to Win: Capably delivers results through others, is good at establishing clear direction, helping others achieve their best work</li> <li>Long Range Planning: Identifies key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal or vision; Builds an integrated plan for course of action to accomplish this vision</li> <li>Enablement: Challenges and supports others to create results but also develop new capabilities.
