Job Description

Film Editor About the Team We bring OpenAI’s brand to life around the world. As a multidisciplinary creative team, we design work that connects meaningfully with local cultures from flagship global campaigns and international events to deeply localised moments. In close collaboration with the U.S. Creative Studio, as well as global and regional marketing teams, agencies, and creators, we ensure OpenAI’s brand principles are honored, protected, and expressed responsibly everywhere people meet our products. About the Role As a Film Editor / Motion Editor, you will play a key role in translating creative ideas into compelling moving-image work. You’ll partner closely with creative directors, designers, writers, and marketers to bring concepts to life through film, animation, and motion. This is a hands-on craft role for someone who loves shaping stories in the edit but is also comfortable animating, experimenting with formats, and occasionally picking up a camera when needed. You’ll work across brand, product, and cultural storytelling, helping define how OpenAI shows up in motion. In this role, you will: - Edit short- and long-form video content across campaigns, launches, social, product storytelling, and brand films - Create motion graphics and light animation to support narratives, explain ideas, and elevate visual storytelling - Collaborate closely with the creative team to translate concepts into strong visual and temporal experiences - Shape rhythm, pacing, tone, and emotion through editing often from early, loose inputs - Occasionally film or capture footage (interviews, moments, experiments, behind-the-scenes) when projects call for it - Work across multiple formats and platforms, from polished hero films to fast, experimental content - Contribute to the evolution of OpenAI’s motion language and visual storytelling standards You might thrive in this role if you: - Have strong editing instincts and a clear point of view on pacing, rhythm, and story - Are comfortable working across live-action, motion, and mixed-media formats - Enjoy collaborating early, shaping ideas rather than just executing briefs - Can move fluidly between polished craft and scrappy experimentation - Are curious, adaptable, and excited by emerging tools, formats, and ways of working - Care deeply about visual storytelling and about making complex ideas feel human and accessible About OpenAI OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. We push the boundaries of the capabilities of AI systems and seek to safely deploy them to the world through our products.
