This role is critical in developing and optimizing advanced propulsion systems to meet our aggressive and innovative goals. You will be responsible for simulation and development of air breathing propulsion systems along with supporting flight testing as needed.</p> <p><br><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the performance, operability and turbomachinery of gas turbine engines</li> <li>Grow Anduril’s propulsion analytical capability. Identify growth opportunities for team members. Empower engineers to find ways to improve the performance of engines.</li> <li>Mentor less experienced engineers</li> <li>Drive the aerodynamic and structural design of turbomachinery</li> <li>Identify gaps in analytical and testing capability. Seek out new technology, testing and analytical capability to level up Anduril’s capabilities in turbomachinery development.</li> <li>Facilitate cross functional teamwork. Work with the design team to create an analytical basis to turbomachinery design. Work with test team to test, qualify and support engines in the field.</li> </ul> <p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering</li> <li>A minimum of 7 years of experience in modeling/simulation of gas turbine engines, turbomachinery or gas turbine development</li> <li>Exposure to testing of gas turbine engines</li> <li>Proven expertise in the aerodynamics and thermodynamics of turbomachinery.</li> <li>U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with air-breathing propulsion systems</li> <li>Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or other CAD packages</li> <li>Experience conducting 1D sizing of turbomachinery components</li> <li>Knowledge of instrumentation strategies and setups to diagnose performance of gas turbine engines</li> <li>Experience with Numerical analysis Toolsets for turbomachinery (AxStream, Concepts NREC)</li> <li>Experience with aerodynamic rig testing techniques for turbomachinery components</li> <li>Experience using CFD to simulate the performance of gas turbine components (Ducts, Inlets, Nozzles, Turbomachinery)</li> <li>Professional experience designing, testing, or flying air-breathing combustors, augmentors, ignition systems, variable area nozzles, or turbomachinery</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$146,000</span><span class="divider"></span><span>$194,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
