ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Sovereign Engagement Lead, USG to build and execute our regulatory, government advocacy, and trade finance strategy in support of sovereign sales. This role sits at the intersection of policy, capital, and commercial growth and plays a crucial role in unlocking complex international deals.
You’ll own the roadmap for export controls, CFIUS, U.S. government advocacy, and trade financing strategy. This is a high-impact, externally facing role working directly with senior U.S. government stakeholders and internal leadership to accelerate global expansion.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Regulatory Leadership
- Lead export licensing strategy (EAR) and CFIUS processes in partnership with Legal and outside counsel
U.S. Government Advocacy
- Design and execute the U.S. government engagement roadmap aligned to priority sovereign pursuits
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships across Commerce, State, Defense, and other relevant agencies
Trade & Development Finance
- Structure and negotiate complex financing packages with EXIM, IDFC, and other governmental finance institutions
- Identify and activate government-backed capital solutions that enhance deal competitiveness
Market Intelligence & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Government Relations, Sales, Product, Legal, and Leadership to shape sovereign market strategy
- Represent Reflection in key U.S. government forums and programming
- Provide strategic support across high-priority sovereign deals
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 10-12+ years of experience in the Department of Commerce (ITA/BIS), State, Defense, or a senior Government Affairs or Commercial role at a leading defense or technology company
- Deep expertise in CFIUS, Export Licensing, and USG Commercial Advocacy
- Strong, active relationships with senior U.S. government officials (Deputy Assistant Secretary level and above)
- Demonstrated experience structuring and securing EXIM and IDFC financing
- Proven ability to operate independently in high-stakes, high-ambiguity environments
- Track record of converting government engagement into tangible commercial outcomes
