Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.</p>
<p class="p1">Figure is seeking for a skilled and motivated <span class="s1">Environmental Health and Safety Engineer. </span>In summary you will be responsible for supporting the organization’s compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, developing strategies to minimize risks, and promoting a safe and sustainable workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHS engineering principles, regulatory knowledge and problem-solving skills to proactively identify hazards and implement effective solutions.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">Responsibilities:<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<ul class="ul1">
<li class="li1"><strong>Regulatory Compliance:</strong> Monitor and Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including CalOSHA, BAAQMD, DTSC, Local Fire Code and other environmental safety standards.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Risk Assessment:</strong> Conduct risk assessments and environmental audits to identify potential hazards and areas of improvement related to safety, health, and environmental practices.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Safety Programs:</strong> Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and training materials to promote a culture of safety within the organization.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Accident Investigations: </strong>Lead investigations of workplace incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Reporting Documentation: </strong>Prepare and maintain detailed reports on safety inspections, environmental assessments, and regulatory compliance. Ensure accurate documentation of safety data and reports.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Training:</strong> Conduct training sessions for employees on safety protocols, emergency response plans, and proper handling of hazardous materials.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Continuous Improvement: </strong>Work with management to continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and performance. Author and Maintain Safety SOPs for critical operations. Support monthly/weekly audits and work with cross functional teams to close findings.</li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Equipment Safety Systems:</strong> Help develop engineering and administrative controls on new equipment. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of safety systems, including personal protective equipment (PPE), fire protection systems, and emergency response tools.</li>
<li class="li1"><strong>Collaboration: </strong>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe and healthy work environment across all levels of the organization.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></li>

<p class="p1">Requirements:<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

<li class="li1">Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (Public Health, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical)</li>
<li class="li1">Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with Bachelors degree or 3-5 with Masters, in a health, safety, or environmental engineering role, preferably within manufacturing, chemical, semiconductor or robotics.</li>
