Job Description

At World Labs, we’re building Large World Models—AI systems that understand, reason about, and interact with the physical world. Our work sits at the frontier of spatial intelligence, robotics, and multimodal AI, with the goal of enabling machines to perceive and operate in complex real-world environments. We’re assembling a global team of researchers, engineers, and builders to push beyond today’s limitations in artificial intelligence. If you’re excited to work on foundational technology that will redefine how machines understand the world—and how people interact with AI—this role is for you.

About World Labs:

World Labs is an AI research and development company focused on creating spatially intelligent systems that can model, reason, and act in the real world. We believe the next generation of AI will not live only in text or pixels, but in three-dimensional, dynamic environments—and we are building the core models to make that possible. Our team brings together expertise across machine learning, robotics, computer vision, simulation, and systems engineering. We operate with the urgency of a startup and the ambition of a research lab, tackling long-horizon problems that demand creativity, rigor, and resilience. Everything we do is in service of building the most capable world models possible—and using them to empower people, industries, and society.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a passionate World Builder who lives and breathes the creation of rich immersive environments. You are an expert in both 3D and 2D workflows, are never satisfied with the tools at hand, and are technical enough to describe how to build better ones. You have some scripting skills, are deeply discerning, intuitive, and most importantly are an expert 3D world builder. In this role you’ll be using our tools directly everyday, generating feedback and evaluations for researchers, working with users, and developing prototypes with the product team. You’ll also collaborate closely with our marketing team to share your work and communicate what our tools enable. All in all, you’re deeply interested in state-of-the-art generative tools and the future of creative 3D technology.

What You Will Do:

Work as a World Building Intern to develop 3D environments with internal and external tools, and give direct feedback to the product team.

Create sample projects and marketing materials from the 3D worlds you develop

Identify and help develop integrations between our product and external applications (game engines and 3D authoring tools)

Participate in all phases of product development, from prototyping, working directly with early testers and design partners to solicit feedback.

Documenting model outputs and creating evaluations for the model research team.

Key Qualifications:

Strong track record of independently developing beautiful realtime or pre-rendered 3D environments in Blender, Unreal, or Unity.

Fiercely independent and self-reliant, a problem solver that cares about the process as much as the finished product, and can communicate these needs well.

Have work experience in video games, VFX, CGI animation or comparable roles with proven ability to operate effectively in a professional studio setting.

Portfolio that demonstrates understanding of a wide range of experience in 2D and 3D workflows with strong aesthetic consistency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of product development, bonus if you have developed creative tools or scripts.

Experience and strong curiosity of generative AI tools.

Will go above and beyond being simply a user, willing to jump in and become a technical artist and collaborate on integrations a ...
