Job Description
Job Purpose: Support the finance department in the accounting cycle (book opening/closing), annual reporting, payroll, and audits; ensure legal compliance (state and federal laws), and collaborate with HR on productivity analysis. 🎯 Requirements (Must-have) Education: Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. Experience: 1–3 years in accounting (operational + analytical). Knowledge of regulations: Payroll calculation and deductions in accordance with state and federal laws (taxes, insurance, withholdings). Tools: Excel (advanced for accounting: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, , SUMIFS), Word, email. Audit: Basic management of internal/external audits and compliance. Skills: Attention to detail, organization, professional ethics, independent and collaborative work, time management. Relationship with departments: Ability to work with Finance and HR (productivity, payroll, statements). Plus / Nice‑to‑have Systems: Sage Intacct and Prism HRP (differential). Multi‑company/divisional environment and job costing. Experience closing books and preparing annual reports. Functional English (if required by the client for reports or audits). 🧭 Key Responsibilities Accounting cycle: Support in opening/closing books and reconciliations. Reporting: Preparation of annual reports and audit documentation. Payroll: Calculation of salaries, deductions (insurance, taxes, garnishments), issuance of payslips/receipts. Compliance: Updating and applying state/federal laws for payroll and taxes. Assets and liabilities: Control and recording; Resolution of financial incidents. Productivity: Calculation and analysis together with HR (per employee/area/project). Audit: Documentation support, addressing findings, and remediation. 🧩 Behavioral and technical skills Technical: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, nested formulas, reconciliations, version control). Knowledge of auditing and compliance. Management of accounting systems and ERP (ideal: Sage Intacct, Prism HRP). Expertise in accounting close and reconciliations. Behavioral: Integrity and confidentiality. Rigor/accuracy (zero tolerance for payroll errors). Clear communication with non-financial colleagues (HR). Proactivity in resolving discrepancies.
