Job Description

Snyk is the leader in secure AI software development, helping millions of developers develop fast and stay secure as AI transforms how software is built. Our AI-native Developer Security Platform integrates seamlessly into development and security workflows, making it easy to find, fix, and prevent vulnerabilities — from code and dependencies to containers and cloud. Our mission is to empower every developer to innovate securely in the AI era — boosting productivity while reducing business risk. We’re not your average security company - we build Snyk on One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. It’s how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world. CLI Team Overview The CLI team at Snyk is a platform team responsible for building and evolving the Snyk CLI as a foundational developer experience and integration layer. The team’s mission is to continuously innovate the CLI experience, enabling developers worldwide to adopt security practices efficiently and consistently across their workflows. The Snyk CLI serves as a primary entry point into the Snyk platform, used both locally by developers and non-interactively within CI/CD pipelines. The CLI team owns the core framework, architecture, and user experience of the CLI, ensuring it is reliable, extensible, and easy to integrate into a wide variety of environments. Role Overview As a member of the Snyk CLI team, you will shape how developers and security engineers experience Snyk every day. The CLI is often the first and most frequent interaction users have with the platform, and your work will directly influence adoption, trust, and long-term customer success. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of developer experience, platform engineering, and product enablement. You will own foundational capabilities that empower multiple product teams to deliver value through a single, cohesive interface at scale, and without friction. Your decisions will have lasting impact, as the CLI must remain predictable, extensible, and dependable across diverse workflows, environments, and automation scenarios. You will work on problems that require balancing technical rigor with usability, making deliberate trade-offs to ensure that the CLI feels intuitive for individual developers while remaining robust enough for enterprise-grade automation. This role demands strong systems thinking, a deep appreciation for developer workflows, and the ability to influence direction across team and product boundaries. Ultimately, you will help ensure that the Snyk CLI continues to be a trusted, high-leverage tool, one that enables secure development practices wherever and however customers build software. What You’ll Do Drive technical decisions that shape the long-term evolution of the Snyk CLI, balancing immediate product needs with sustainable architecture and maintainability. Partner with product managers and designers to translate complex security capabilities into simple, intuitive developer workflows. Act as a technical multiplier for other engineering teams by enabling them to deliver CLI functionality faster and more consistently. Lead initiatives that improve the reliability and predictability of the CLI across diverse real-world usage patterns. Contribute to a strong engineering culture by raising the bar on code quality, design reviews, and technical documentation. Mentor and support other engineers, sharing context and best practices for building developer-facing platforms. Use data, feedback, and real user workflows to continuously refine and validate CLI behavior and design decisions. What We’re Looking For Experience building and maintaining developer tooling that integrates into CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows Deep expertise in Go, with the ability to work effectively in TypeScript as needed. Hands-on experience with one or more of the following CI/CD or build ecosystems: Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI (Orbs), Azure Pipeli ... (truncated, view full listing at source)
