<p>Auterion builds a cutting-edge operating system for autonomous robotic systems that empower a diverse range of platforms to perform surveillance, reconnaissance, inspection, mapping and logistics tasks. Our industry-leading software drives the adoption of robotic fleets and is recognized by the U.S. government as the future standard for its drone programs. </p> <p>We are looking for a Simulation Software Engineer who enjoys building sophisticated simulation environments that enable us to test, validate and optimize our drone systems in virtual environments before real-world deployment. You will take on tasks within the focused on the Auterion Simulator while working closely with:</p> <ul> <li>Unreal Engine</li> <li>Linux systems incl. Docker and qemu</li> <li>C/C++, Python Bash codebases</li> <li>The entire AuterionOS ecosystem</li> <li>Engaged and friendly engineers from across Auterion</li> </ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work within the Apps Simulation team and collaborate with other development teams to build leading-edge products.</li> <li>Extend and improve our Auterion Simulator software across the entire stack.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand both internal and customer use cases.</li> <li>Propose new software solutions and take ownership of the implementation. Your technical expertise will have a huge impact on bringing Auterion’s drone products to market.</li> <li>Provide expert support (L3) to customers facing technical issues.</li> <li>Write clear and concise internal documentation, in addition to contributing to the public-facing knowledge base.</li> <li>Participate in daily stand-ups, as well as release planning and task prioritization meetings.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.</li> <li>3+ years of experience writing object-oriented C++ and/or Python code in a professional setting.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of Unreal engine: blueprint and C++ integration, sensor simulation, physics engine, material and shader development.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of performance optimizations for applications using Unreal Engine.</li> <li>Excellent understanding of complex software solutions that consist of multiple code bases and work in integration.</li> <li>Solid experience with Linux/Ubuntu systems, incl. network configurations, systemd and bash scripting.</li> <li>Good understanding of software design, implementation, debugging and testing.</li> <li>Experience with Docker environments and qemu for scaling simulation infrastructure.</li> <li>Experience with Python for automation, tooling and simulation orchestration.</li> <li>Ability to break down complex goals into actionable tasks and drive implementation across the entire ecosystem of the Auterion simulator: OS, customer-facing UI, virtualization environments, tooling.</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD and release/test automation.</li> <li>Good understanding of sensors and peripherals of a drone or robotic systems.</li> <li>Strong debugging and performance analysis skills with pro-active and autonomous working style.</li> <li>A product-oriented mindset, with an eagerness to drive forward project initiatives across team-boundaries.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>Flexible working hours</li> <li>Stock Options</li> <li>Generous holiday allowance</li> <li>Company pension plan </li> <li>Car parking </li> <li>Enhanced maternity paternity leave</li> <li>Mental health and wellbeing support</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Auterion</strong></p> <p>We are building the leading software platform for AI-powered autonomous systems for enterprise and government customers.
