Senior Reward Partner
The role / impact
You will join the team as a Senior Reward Partner, acting as the primary compensation advisor for a global business function. You will own the reward relationship end-to-end, moving beyond a service desk model to become the authoritative voice that senior leaders consult before making critical talent decisions. Your work will involve designing, implementing, and evolving reward programmes that align with Xero’s strategy to attract and retain key talent across your portfolio.
You will make a tangible impact by proactively surfacing where reward strategy needs to shift and by leading high-stakes projects like the annual salary review. Whether you are managing the global Go-To-Market portfolio or focusing on the Americas region, you will influence how stakeholders think about reward trade-offs, reframing cost discussions into strategic retention investments.
The team / how they connect
You will be part of a high-trust, distributed team of compensation experts based across San Mateo, San Francisco, and New Zealand. The team connects through twice-weekly syncs to align on priorities and celebrate wins, complemented by weekly one-on-one sessions and a culture that values shipping fast with low bureaucracy.
The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on
- Building foundational compensation infrastructure including new job architecture and equity refresh methodologies.
- Developing a global pay transparency framework and a total rewards portal to enhance the employee experience.
- Redesigning compensation structures to support Xero's growth in the small business and partnership ecosystem.
Where and how you can work
This role is based in our San Mateo office with a hybrid working model. You will enjoy the balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, participating in quarterly in-person sessions to strengthen team connections.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- You bring deep knowledge of global compensation structures, including incentive design and equity programmes within the technology sector.
- A background in navigating complex M&A integrations or scaling reward frameworks in high-growth SaaS environments will be highly regarded.
- You possess the statistical literacy to conduct regression and pay equity analysis, knowing how to translate data into meaningful business narratives.
- Your ability to influence senior executives allows you to push back constructively and provide expert guidance on market dynamics.
- Experience with HCM systems, particularly Workday, and compensation survey platforms like Radford or Mercer is essential for success in this role.
- You are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, capable of managing multiple global projects and making autonomous trade-offs to deliver results.
Compensation: Our midpoint TTR for this role is $236,500. Offers will be based on the skills and experience you bring, and we consider the overall package at Xero.
