Mechanical Engineer - Hands Mechanisms

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms) - Hands, to own a set of NEO systems from a mechanical design perspective. In this role, you will design transmissions, structures, integrate sensors and actuators, perform FEA simulations, etc. Responsibilities Design, prototype, and validate robotics (electro)mechanical designs Integrate electronics, sensors and cables in robotic joints with large range of motions and tight packaging Optimize parts and assemblies for weight and cost Create high-quality drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for manufacturing and production Author concise documentation of design details, requirements, and test plan
