About the role
The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of Dremio’s People Operations team, with a primary focus on supporting our employees in Portugal and EMEA while collaborating closely with global HR partners. This role requires strong expertise in Portuguese labor law, HR operations, and employee relations, along with the ability to manage multiple HR programs across the employee lifecycle. The Senior HR Generalist will oversee critical HR functions such as onboarding, offboarding, compliance, leave management, immigration coordination, and employee experience initiatives.
Working within a fast-paced, global technology company, this role will partner cross-functionally with teams such as Payroll, Finance, Legal, and IT to ensure HR programs and policies are implemented effectively and in compliance with Portuguese and EU employment regulations. What you’ll be doing
O nboarding:
Lead the onboarding process for new hires in Portugal and support broader EMEA onboarding activities where needed.
Partner with payroll providers and HRIS administrators to ensure accurate employee data entry, employment documentation, and benefits enrollment.
Manage the preparation and delivery of onboarding materials and new hire orientation sessions.
Ensure all required employment documentation is completed in accordance with Portuguese labor regulations.
Coordinate with IT, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure new employees have the tools and resources needed for a successful start.
Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding experience and processes.
Offboarding:
Manage offboarding processes for voluntary and involuntary terminations in compliance with International labor law.
Prepare exit documentation, coordinate with payroll for final salary calculations, and ensure proper termination procedures are followed.
Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to provide insights to leadership.
Manage exit surveys and ensure feedback is captured to support continuous improvement.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely deactivation of access and completion of offboarding tasks.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor law, EU employment regulations, and internal company policies.
Maintain and update employment documentation, policies, and employee handbook content applicable to Portugal and EMEA.
Partner with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and external advisors to ensure regulatory compliance related to employment practices.
Support audits and ensure accurate maintenance of employee records in accordance with GDPR and data privacy requirements.
Monitor regulatory updates and ensure HR practices remain compliant with evolving legislation.
Leave of Absence Management
Manage leave of absence processes in accordance with Portuguese labor law, including parental leave, sick leave, and other statutory or company-provided leave programs.
Partner with employees and managers to ensure smooth coordination of leave requests and return-to-work transitions.
Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of leave statuses in accordance with local requirements.
