We are looking for a detail oriented Accessioner (part-time) to be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day laboratory preparation and equipment maintenance in the Clinical Laboratory. The Accessioner will also be responsible for the accessioning of clinical specimens, performing quality assurance procedures, and complying with all local, state, and federal laboratory requirements. The nature of the work performed by an Accessioner requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. This is a part time position (24 hours/week minimum) with Saturday 8am-4:30pm required. Austin Expansion Update: We are building a brand-new state-of-the-art laboratory in Austin, Texas , expected to launch in late 2027 / early 2028 , and we are looking for talented laboratory professionals who want to be part of this journey from the very beginning. Candidates hired into this role will initially relocate to the Bay Area (Union City, CA) to train and work alongside our experienced laboratory teams. During this time (up to ~18 months), you will gain deep hands-on experience with BillionToOne’s cutting-edge molecular diagnostic workflows, quality systems, and laboratory operations before transitioning to our new Austin facility once it opens. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on training with our experienced lab teams and become one of the founding members of our Austin laboratory. Responsibilities: Perform sample accessioning procedures according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures Prepare documents for equipment and personnel records Perform and document routine maintenance of equipment Prepare other clinical documentation as required and assigned Clean labware, equipment, and benches Prepare reagents required for testing Write and review controlled documents as assigned Qualifications: Student in pursuit of a Bachelor's Biology degree or related life sciences degree Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner Strong attention to detail Able to manage daily specimen processing needs with high emphasis on quality Able to analyze and problem solve basic issues that impact test performance Able to proactively communicate consistently, clearly, and honestly Nice-To-Haves: Clinical Laboratory experience or equivalent high complexity and volume laboratory experience Laboratory experience within the last year preferred Benefits And Perks: Working alongside brilliant, kind, passionate and dedicated colleagues, in an empowering environment, toward a global vision, striving for a future in which transformative molecular diagnostics can help millions of patients Open, transparent cultu ...
