ABOUT THE ROLE This role exists to turn institutional asset management practice into product. This role ensures Build reflects how assets are actually operated, governed, and optimized once capital is deployed. This role is accountable for embedding best-in-class asset management practice into Build’s platform so partners can make better decisions faster, with less friction and more control. You bring deep experience managing real assets through real cycles and convert that expertise into durable, scalable systems. You can expect to: - Own domain truth across the full asset management lifecycle: onboarding, business planning, operations, leasing, capital planning, reporting, refinancing, and disposition. - Represent the asset owner’s perspective inside Build, ensuring product decisions align with institutional governance, incentives, and risk tolerance. - Drive measurable outcomes for partners by applying Build’s platform to active portfolios and operating assets. - Identify repeatable decision points where institutional best practice can be systematized and productized. - Translate asset management processes and judgment into clear workflows, metrics, and decision logic that can be embedded into software. - Work directly with partners to align Build’s product with their internal reporting, approval, and performance management processes. - Pressure-test product concepts against real operating complexity: multi-asset portfolios, third-party operators, covenants, and market volatility. - Own delivery quality from an asset management perspective. If the product fails to support real operating decisions, it is your responsibility to surface and correct it. - Build reusable abstractions that allow Build to support many assets and portfolios without bespoke configuration. - Act as a credible counterpart to asset managers, investment committees, and operating partners by speaking their language precisely.
