Join us.</span></span></p></div><p>May Mobility is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Predictive Simulation to lead our efforts in rapidly deploying iterative improvements to our autonomous driver stack. As a key member of our leadership team, you will direct and oversee innovative the design, development, and evolution of a comprehensive simulated test suite. This suite will be used to accurately predict the behavior of May’s AVs in a variety of Operational Design Domains (ODDs).</p>
<h4><strong>Critical Functions Overseen:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Curation and evolution of a large suite of simulated tests</li>
<li>Categorization of tests such that results can be rapidly interpreted</li>
<li>Continuous improvement of tests in the virtual test suite</li>
<li>Measure and maximize the coverage of the test suite(s) and other related artifacts to minimize test escapes and surprises.</li>
<li>Ensurance of test report quality and predictive accuracy</li>
<li>Summarization of test results in multiple useful categories for rapid assessment</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Critical Measurables</strong></p>
<p>The candidate is expected to continuously work to optimize the following KPIs:</p>
<ul>
<li>Maximize the coverage of the test suite, ensuring that our current and future ODDs are well covered</li>
<li>Maximize the accuracy of the predictive results derived from testing and validation</li>
<li>Minimize the time to interpret and use the results of the test suite (including minimizing false positive failures)</li>
<li>Minimize the number of test escapes (surprises) observed in the field</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li><strong>Lead the development of May’s core simulated test suite</strong> including log-based tests, synthetic tests, and Hardware in the Loop tests. </li>
<li><strong>Continuously measure and expand test coverage</strong> to ensure that the current and future ODDs are included. Minimize test escapes in on road drives.</li>
<li><strong>Make and communicate to key stakeholders predictions of AV performance</strong> in areas such as safety (collisions, time-to-collision, clearance), comfort (hard braking, hesitations, lateral swings) and computational performance.</li>
<li><strong>Manage and mentor a team of engineers and scientists</strong>, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence to drive high performance and professional growth.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborate with cross-functional teams</strong>, including core autonomy development, release, product, and operations to ensure that critical testing needs are met or exceeded.</li>
