The SBG Security team supports this mission by building thoughtful partnerships with our internal partners to drive security strategy alignment across the SBG portfolio. We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead our engineering team in crafting and delivering robust, scalable, and secure products. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of complex projects, leading cross-functional dependencies, and driving technical excellence. Your Impact Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of foundational technology and high-impact products. Project Lifecycle Management: Drive large and complex projects from initial requirements through to successful completion. Strategic Planning: Contribute to product roadmap discussions, provide accurate resource estimates and schedules, and lead system-level trade-offs to ensure quality and consistency. Process & Standards: Identify areas for improvement in architecture, design, and security. Maintain and implement standards for design reviews, testing, and secure development practices. Security Accountability: Integrate security into every stage of the development lifecycle, from initial architecture to final deployment. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Operations, QA, Firmware, Mechanical, and external vendors to define and deliver key projects. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate discussions with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, explain technical solutions, and ensure alignment across the organization. Quality Assurance: Maintain accountability for the quality and performance of products within your area of responsibility, proactively finding opportunities for improvement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 15 years of related experience; Or Master’s degree 12 years of related experience. Minimum of 4 years of formal management/supervisory experience. Strong hands-on experience with at least one major programming language, such as Java or GoLang along with AWS (Cloud). Experience in cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines. Proven track record of working with distributed teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to influence organizational technical strategy. Strong analytical skills with experience in managing technical debt and system performance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Why Cisco?
