About the Role We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our small but passionate team of Hardware engineers working on cloud-based bioreactor control and monitoring platform. As an intern, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and testing hardware that are reliable and robust. What You’ll Do Assist in design of mechanical components and systems Work closely w/ senior engineers and scientists in research/ experimentation Support testing and validation activities Collaborate in cross functional teams across disciplines. Learn about fermentation, cell culture, and biotechnology. Basic Qualifications You are between your junior and senior years in a university or college Currently pursuing a BS in ME or similar Knowledge of ME design principles and CAD SW (Onshape a plus) Good verbal and written communication skills Some familiarization with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing. Some project experience in making parts. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with other 3D CAD tools (Solidworks, PTC, NX) Basic skills and interest in prototyping and fabrication. Data analysis and writing technical reports. Note: Technical guidance will be provided, and a tech lead will offer support and supervision to help you succeed in this role. Why Join Us? We’re looking for someone based in the San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in person at our office in South San Francisco. The duration of this internship is 3 months. Relocation/housing assistance will NOT be provided. Base Salary Range This is a paid internship and this role is $35 - $40 an hour. The hourly rate for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
