Position Summary The Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist performs imaging exams for which they meet Core Exam Specifications and as allowed by their Limited Scope Radiographer license. The technologist demonstrates competency through successful completion of skills testing and ongoing competency review, while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high‑quality diagnostic images. Essential Functions Ensures proper patient identification and order verification prior to each exam Prepares patients for imaging procedures with professionalism, empathy, and respect Clearly explains procedures to patients and families to promote understanding, cooperation, and comfort Responds compassionately to patient questions and concerns Performs radiologic exams that produce high‑quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient and staff safety Adheres to established imaging protocols, correct patient positioning, and radiation protection guidelines Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds appropriately and promptly Completes all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage Communicates and coordinates pertinent patient care information with other healthcare providers Maintains a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment, including proper storage of supplies and equipment Pursues ongoing education and professional development, particularly related to new procedures and imaging equipment Required Skills Strong anatomy knowledge Image evaluation and quality assurance Imaging equipment operation Understanding of contrast protocols Emergency response awareness Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Clear and effective communication skills Electronic imaging systems proficiency Task prioritization and time management Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment Minimum Qualifications Current licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist / Limited Scope Operator in the state of practice OR ARRT Board Registry Eligible per state requirements Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers Demonstrated competency in at least one of the following areas: Chest Extremities Spine Skull Podiatry Bone Densitometry (DEXA) Preferred Qualifications One year of experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic environment Why Join St. Vincent Hospital?
