Job Description: Fluence is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to lead media relations, crisis communications, and thought leadership activities in Germany and Europe. This role will help strengthen Fluence’s brand, support our reputation as a trusted energy storage partner, and help position the company as a leading voice on the future of the grid. The Senior Communications Manager will be part of the global Corporate Communications team and will report to Fluence’s Director of External Communications. In this highly cross-functional role, you will partner closely with market-level leadership, sales, marketing, policy, and other teams to develop and execute communications strategies that support business growth, manage issues, and build trust with customers, policymakers, and media. You will oversee day-to-day media relations and thought leadership efforts for Germany, the UK/Ireland, and key emerging EMEA markets, and you will assist with market-level crisis and issues communications planning and response. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic thinking with strong execution skills, particularly in media engagement, content development, and proactive storytelling. As the Senior Communications Manager at Fluence, you will: Lead media relations in Germany, and across Europe, including identifying priority stories, building relationships with key journalists, managing local agency partners, and proactively pitching news and thought leadership angles that support Fluence’s local and global narrative. Develop and execute market-level communications plans aligned with global corporate communications strategies, with a particular focus on energy storage, renewables integration, grid modernization, and data center growth. Draft and localize high-quality external content, including press releases, media statements, op-eds, bylined articles, talking points, Q&As, and briefing documents. Support market-level thought leadership, including shaping messaging and developing content. Develop and publish engaging market-level social media content across relevant platforms to amplify key communication initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand voice and campaign objectives. Coordinate and execute market-level press conferences and provide communications support for market-level events such as ribbon cuttings and public policy briefings. Assist with crisis and issues communications in Germany, the UK/Ireland, and the broader EMEA market, including monitoring issues, preparing holding statements and Q&As, and supporting incident response, in coordination with global communications. Provide counsel to internal stakeholders in collaboration with the Director of External Communications on media engagement, messaging, and reputational considerations, helping market-level leaders and spokespeople navigate complex and sensitive topics. Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure communications efforts support pipeline development, customer engagement, and key commercial milestones, including strategic project announcements. Collaborate closely with the local policy and public affairs teams to develop and lead policy-based communication campaigns in line with the strategic business priorities across various markets Coordinate local amplification of global announcements, adapting messaging for local audiences and ensuring consistency with global positioning and brand voice.
