About the Role:
We’re looking for a Director, Medical Education & Grants on the Medical Affairs team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Medical Services, you’ll be responsible for driving processes and maintaining systems critical to the compliant and efficient execution of Medical Education plans that support impactful independent medical education programs for HCPs. Operating at the intersection of strategy, operations, and compliance, this position ensures that all medical education and grants activities align with Insmed's corporate policies, applicable regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices, while driving continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a central role in driving program priorities by identifying gaps in educational needs across therapeutic areas and providing strategic guidance on outcomes-driven grant funding decisions, ensuring that approvals are grounded in scientific rigor, unmet educational need, and organizational goals, as well as oversee the full lifecycle of grant requests from intake through close-out and maintain a robust, audit-ready grants management infrastructure, partnering closely with Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and Finance to align educational initiatives with organizational priorities and evolving regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to drive a comprehensive medical education grant strategy, encompassing areas of interest, gap analysis, and funding, in close collaboration with cross-functional partners. You’ll also:
Grant Request Oversight & Evaluation: Manage the end-to-end review of incoming medical education grant requests, including summary and recommendation development, ensuring full alignment with corporate policies and regulatory guidelines.
Grants Management & Operational Excellence: Oversee a compliant grants management system, including grant review committee facilitation, contracting, budget planning, audit readiness, and the development of project management tools, reports, and program timelines.
Financial Management & Budgeting: Partner with the Finance department to develop, manage, and track budgets; facilitate contracting processes; and actively participate in annual budget planning and forecasting cycles.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Management: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports covering grants tracking, program status, key metrics, and outcomes analyses for Medical Affairs internal stakeholders; establish, maintain, and lead training on data management systems that support the review/approval process, archiving, and maintenance of all grants programs.
Educational Gap Identification: Identify and communicate key findings related to educational gaps, emerging updates, and enhancements needed to strengthen medical education and grants strategy.
Provider Communication, Program Quality & Close-Out: Maintain proactive communication with medical education providers to facilitate timely outcomes reporting, metrics collection, reconciliation, follow-up, and program close-outs; attend and observe supported medical education programs, both online and on-site as needed, to ensure quality and compliance.
