In this role, you’ll be responsible to ensure compliance with the regulations of Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) as a backup Designated Manager and step in as needed to ensure uninterrupted regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence when the primary Designated Manager is unavailable.This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and deeply knowledgeable about Ontario pharmacy regulations.You Will:Regulatory & ComplianceAct as the Designated Manager during periods when the primary DM is unavailableEnsure ongoing compliance with regulations including:Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) requirementsNational Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) requirementsPharmacy Act, 1991 and RHPAControlled Drugs and Substances legislation as applicableMaintain readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiriesEnsure accurate documentation, incident reporting, and record retentionEnsure safe dispensing practices and appropriate pharmacist oversightEnsure proper handling, storage, reconciliation, and security of controlled substances as applicableEnforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standardsProvide practice oversight to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staffEnsure team members practice within scope and meet regulatory and company standardsAddress practice concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessaryQuality & Patient SafetyChampion a culture of patient safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvementSupport investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions related to incidents or errorsSupport compliant investigations and reportingSupport management of regulatory inquiries in collaboration with legalCommunication & CollaborationCommunicate clearly with the primary Designated Manager and pharmacy leadershipLiaise with regulators, inspectors, the legal team and internal partners as requiredEscalate compliance risks or concerns in a timely mannerFill in as needed to cover operational roles in dispensingYou Have:A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of PharmacistsEligible and willing to be a Designated Manager (Backup) with OCPDeeply familiar with Ontario pharmacy legislation and standards of practiceComfortable assuming accountability for pharmacy compliance when requiredOrganized, dependable, and able to make sound decisions independentlyWhat we offer: The opportunity to support a modern, patient-centered healthcare platformA collaborative, compliance-driven pharmacy teamCompetitive compensation aligned with experience and responsibilityGlobal Pharmacy Compliance regulatory and legal teams with deep seated knowledge of regulationsWe are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging.
