Founded in 2016, Verkada has expanded rapidly with 15 offices and 2,200+ full-time employees.</p></div><h3><strong>About the Role</strong></h3> <p>As the <strong>Director of Technical Content and Delivery</strong>, you’ll report directly to the <strong>VP of Solutions Engineering</strong> and play a pivotal role in designing and building Verkada’s global technical certification, training, and enablement program.</p> <p>You’ll lead a team of <strong>technical content creators and trainers</strong>, architect multiple certification tracks, and develop deep technical content — including <strong>hands-on labs, in-person trainings, short-form learning modules, and authored resources</strong> that set the industry standard.</p> <p>This is a deeply <strong>hands-on, technical, and execution-heavy role</strong>. You should love to build. You’ll roll up your sleeves to write content, design labs, test exams, and run pilots, all while laying the foundation for a program that will <strong>scale globally</strong> and touch <strong>tens of thousands</strong> of learners in the years to come.</p> <h3><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Design and launch Verkada’s global technical certification and training program</strong>, with tiered certifications, hands-on labs, and real-world assessments.</li> <li>Build and scale a team of <strong>highly technical content creators and trainers</strong>, driving content quality, technical depth, and learner engagement.</li> <li>Partner deeply with <strong>Solutions Engineers (SEs), SE leaders, and partner technical teams</strong> to ensure programs directly support field readiness, sales success, and product adoption.</li> <li>Champion <strong>in-person, lab-based, and hardware-integrated training experiences</strong> — delivering high-impact sessions across our San Mateo HQ and the field. <ul> <li>Create a wide range of enablement assets, including:</li> <li>Multi-track certification exams</li> <li>Hands-on labs and simulations</li> <li>Short-form on-demand trainings</li> <li>Learning books, whitepapers, technical guides</li> <li>In-person instructor-led and virtual training content</li> <li>Spend time <strong>in the field (~25–30% travel)</strong> supporting training events, gathering feedback, and evolving the experience based on real-world usage.</li> <li>Work cross-functionally with <strong>Solutions Engineering, Product, Channel, and Enablement teams</strong> to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with product updates.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Define and track success metrics around adoption, field performance, knowledge retention, and global certification reach.</li> <li>Scale the program and your team rapidly as adoption and demand grow — with a long-term goal of becoming the <strong>industry benchmark</strong> for technical certification in the physical security and smart building space.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What You Bring</strong></h3> <ul> <li>8+ years in <strong>technical training, certification, or enablement leadership</strong> roles in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments.</li> <li>Strong background in <strong>networking, IoT, physical security, or enterprise infrastructure</strong>.</li> <li>Proven success building and scaling <strong>technical certification programs</strong> that serve internal teams, partn ...
