Sr. Corporate Counsel

<p>Pendo helps companies drive product adoption, better understand their users, and deliver software experiences customers love. As we grow globally, the Legal team plays a critical role in ensuring we scale responsibly — balancing speed, compliance, and trust.</p> <p>We’re looking for a Sr. Corporate Counsel who’s energized by variety and impact. You’ll be a key partner in helping Pendo grow across new markets and functions, with meaningful ownership over global employment, privacy, and corporate compliance initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who has been an early in-house lawyer at a fast-growing, venture-backed company and now wants to amplify their impact as part of a larger, collaborative team working directly with and reporting to the General Counsel.</p> <p><strong><span data-offset-key="b3m73-0-0"><span data-text="true">Deliverables (what you’ll do):</span></span></strong><br>Be a true generalist — advise across a variety of legal areas, with a primary focus on employment and global privacy, while supporting other matters as needed.</p> <ul> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Global Employment</span> <ul> <li>Partner closely with the People team on global employment matters across multiple jurisdictions, including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, terminations, and investigations.</li> <li>Develop, refine, and maintain employment policies, handbooks, and compliance frameworks that align with local laws and Pendo’s culture.</li> <li>Monitor employment law developments and provide practical, risk-based guidance to business leaders.</li> <li>Support the design and implementation of scalable global employment practices that enable consistent, compliant operations worldwide.</li> </ul> </li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Privacy Data Protection</span> <ul> <li>Advise on international privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, Japan APPI, Australian Privacy Act, CCPA/CPRA, and other global frameworks, with particular focus on employee and HR data privacy.</li> <li>Provide clear, actionable guidance on international privacy compliance, data handling, and risk management.</li> <li>Partner with Product Privacy Counsel to ensure alignment between employee privacy practices and product-related privacy frameworks..</li> </ul> </li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Corporate, Compliance Advisory Support</span> <ul> <li>Advise on corporate governance, subsidiary management, and strategic transactions, including due diligence and integration efforts.</li> <li>Support compliance programs related to Pendo’s Code of Conduct, ESG, Whistleblower, and Anti-Corruption initiatives.</li> <li>Pitch in on projects and revenue contracts across commercial and product areas when time permits and where your expertise adds value.</li> <li>Serve as a trusted advisor to teams across Pendo, translating complex legal concepts into practical guidance.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <div class="p" data-block="true" data-editor="c9398" data-offset-key="6adae-0-0"> <div class="public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr" data-offset-key="6adae-0-0"><strong><span data-offset-key="6adae-0-0"><span data-text="true">Minimum Qualifications:</span></span></strong></div> <div class="public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr" data-offset-key="6adae-0-0"> <ul> <li>JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.</li> <li>8-10 years of employment and diverse legal counseling experience, including time in-house at a fast-growing, venture-backed technology or SaaS company.</li> <li>Strong background in global employment and privacy/data protection, with comfort navigating international regulations.</li> <li>Experience building corporate compliance programs from the ground up and managing maturation of such programs (e.g., Code of Conduct, ESG, Whistleblower, or Anti-Corruption).</li> <li>Exposure to corporate governance, MA, or product and commercial ...
