Your team will initially focus on building a self-served, exa-byte scale Data Services for ingestion, stream data processing, serving. You will set a high technical bar, champion Roblox's leadership principles, and drive the delivery of innovative products that delight our users.</p> <h2><strong>You Will:</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Build and Lead:</strong> Attract, hire, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers. Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of new technologies.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>You Have:</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Proven Leadership:</strong> Demonstrated experience leading and scaling engineering teams, ideally in a high-growth environment.</li> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience in engineering management - setting roadmap, charter, vision, key metrics for the engineering team</li> </ul> <li><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong> Deep understanding of data principles, architectures, and technologies.</li> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience with big data tools and technologies like Kafka, Flink, Druid, Spark, optimized Sql, Map Reduce, HDFS, Hive</li> <li>Experience with programming languages like Golang, Java, Python, Helm, Terraform</li> <li>Experience working with Cloud providers like AWS - S3, EMR, EKS</li> <li>A graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is a plus</li> </ul> <li><strong>Roblox Alignment:</strong> Strong alignment with Roblox's leadership principles, including a focus on respect, safety, creativity, and community.</li> <li><strong>Excellent Communication:</strong> Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
