Engineering Manager, Spending

<h3><strong>About the role</strong></h3> <p>Chime is looking for an engineering leader to help manage and guide one of the Banking Products technology teams. Chime’s Banking Products team is on a mission to make Chime the top choice for everyday spending by building innovative, reliable, and member-first financial tools. We focus on driving active spend and usage, increasing reliability and availability, and delivering seamless, trusted experiences across cards, credit, money movement, deals, and transaction intelligence. Our work empowers members to manage their money with confidence, spend smarter, and improve their long-term financial health.</p> <p>This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.</p> <p>The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $199,000 and up to $275,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. </p> <h3><strong>In this role, you can expect to </strong></h3> <ul> <li>Work closely with our engineering leaders to ensure engineering efficiency and guide the team through a path forward to improve and scale delivery. Ensure that technical decisions support our quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and security goals.</li> <li>Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer product features.</li> <li>Build, lead and hire a high-calibre team of software engineers to solve these problems while being hands on. </li> <li>Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.</li> <li>Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set expectations with team and individuals. Establish team objectives in alignment with business goals. </li> <li>Work very closely with the Product Managers to launch solutions for the users.</li> <li>Contribute to overall engineering initiatives as a member of Chime’s engineering leadership team.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>To thrive in this role, you have</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience with similar tech: Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services (data, compute) and Service Oriented Architectures.</li> <li>Worked as a software engineer and have a deep empathy towards engineering happiness.</li> <li>Experience supporting coaching members of your team around project execution, skill development, and career progression.</li> <li>2+ years in a people management responsibilities.</li> <li>Interest in pushing the technology, people, and organization envelope to explore new ways we can deliver amazement to our customers.</li> <li>A fascination in how to make teams and people thrive.</li> <li>Enjoyment in learning and diving into the deepest levels of how things work.</li> <li>The ability to motivate a team through delivery on aggressive schedules and goals.</li> </ul> <p><strong>#LI-Hybrid #LI-GC1</strong></p><div class="content-conclusion"><h2><strong>A little about us</strong></h2> <p>At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
