<p>The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role in scaling Vercel’s accounting operations as the company continues to grow and mature, to operate with standards expected for a public company. Reporting to the Controller, this role will own core operational accounting areas, and will work in close partnership with another Senior Accounting Manager who leads the accounting close process, ensuring timely, accurate financial information that supports FPA, leadership, and business decision-making.</p>
<p>This role will lead and own several key accounting areas, including capitalized commissions, payroll accounting, and subsidiary accounting related to MA activity, including post-acquisition integration. The role will manage, mentor and coach 1 accountant and will provide oversight and review the work of an offshore team.</p>
<h2><strong>What You Will Do:</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Own and lead the monthly and quarterly close for assigned areas, setting clear standards for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, while reviewing team work, and providing guidance.</li>
<li>Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of team members, providing regular feedback, career guidance, and growth opportunities.</li>
<li>Oversee subsidiary accounting work performed by an offshore team, managing timelines, reviewing deliverables, and resolving issues.</li>
<li>Work closely with FPA and business partners to keep actuals, forecasts, and business assumptions aligned, and to flag issues early.</li>
<li>Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with GAAP principles.</li>
<li>Lead accounting work for acquisitions, including onboarding new entities and aligning policies and systems.</li>
<li>Lead close and process improvements, simplifying workflows, strengthening controls, and scaling the function as the business grows.</li>
<li>Design, implement, and evolve SOX-aligned controls that scale with the business, strengthen audit readiness, and support execution. </li>
<li>Build and use AI agents and automation to eliminate manual work and free the team up for higher-value analysis.</li>
<li>Own the audit relationship for your areas—preparing materials, answering questions, and keeping audits moving smoothly.</li>
<li>Take the lead on cross-functional projects, while coaching and developing team members along the way.</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>About You:</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years at a Big 4 firm and 2+ years in industry.</li>
<li>3+ years of people management or supervisory experience, with a track record of leading and developing teams.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required.</li>
<li>Experience owning accounting for capitalized commissions. </li>
<li>Exposure to MA transactions, foreign subsidiaries, and post-acquisition integrations.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and SOX, with the ability to apply guidance practically in a growing organization.</li>
<li>Hands-on accounting leader with a strong sense of ownership, able to manage competing priorities while setting clear expectations and driving results across the team.</li>
