Technical Program Manager (Technical Support Engineering)

<p><strong>The role, in a nutshell:</strong></p> <p>We seek an experienced and technically skilled Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering expertise to plan requirements with internal stakeholders and guide projects through the full project lifecycle.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.</li> <li>Prioritize program goals, understand and translate stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritize deliverables.</li> <li>Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, and/or manage project plans for the supported program(s).</li> <li>Review key metrics about a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.</li> <li>Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.</li> </ul> <p><strong>TPM - Technical Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own end-to-end execution for L3 Engineering escalations and customer support metrics, including intake, prioritization, dependency tracking, issue resolution.</li> <li>Design and improve Technical Support processes that enable scalable and reliable delivery which can be reproduced across library ecosystems.</li> <li>Coordinate across Engineering, Product, Security, and Infrastructure to align priorities, timelines, and technical constraints.</li> <li>Surface and manage risks, blockers, and tradeoffs early through effective execution forums and async communication.</li> <li>Lead capacity planning and forecasting to support parallel initiatives and changing demand.</li> <li>Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve library and package coverage and reduce systemic friction.</li> <li>Coordinate work performed by contractors or external contributors, ensuring quality and alignment with engineering standards.</li> <li>Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly and accurately to engineering and leadership stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field with equivalent practical experience.</li> <li>5 years of experience in program management.</li> <li>5 years of experience with software development best practices and establishing methods, tools, and process improvements for cross-team initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree, Ph.D., or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related technical field.</li> <li>5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Base Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$145,000</span><span class="divider"></span><span>$165,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>Chainguard is the secure foundation for software development and deployment.
