This role will involve working primarily across general medical and elderly care wards, with opportunities to support additional inpatient teams including surgical, respiratory and acute stroke services as required.</p> <p data-start="993" data-end="1342">This position is suitable for a Band 6 therapist or an experienced Band 7 clinician who is confident working within acute care. You will play a key role in the assessment, diagnosis and management of adults presenting with swallowing and communication difficulties, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.</p> <hr data-start="1344" data-end="1347"> <h2 data-start="1349" data-end="1374">Key Responsibilities</h2> <p data-start="1375" data-end="1400">In this role, you will:</p> <ul data-start="1401" data-end="1994"> <li data-start="1401" data-end="1520"> <p data-start="1403" data-end="1520">Assess, diagnose and manage adults with speech, language and swallowing disorders within an acute hospital setting.</p> </li> <li data-start="1521" data-end="1670"> <p data-start="1523" data-end="1670">Work primarily across general medical and elderly care wards, with flexibility to support surgical, respiratory and acute stroke teams as needed.</p> </li> <li data-start="1671" data-end="1770"> <p data-start="1673" data-end="1770">Deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to discharge planning and onward referrals.</p> </li> <li data-start="1771" data-end="1879"> <p data-start="1773" data-end="1879">Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing and therapy colleagues.</p> </li> <li data-start="1880" data-end="1994"> <p data-start="1882" data-end="1994">Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation in line with NHS and professional standards.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="1996" data-end="1999"> <h2 data-start="2001" data-end="2035">Qualifications and Experience</h2> <p data-start="2036" data-end="2084">To be considered for this role, you must have:</p> <ul data-start="2085" data-end="2509"> <li data-start="2085" data-end="2173"> <p data-start="2087" data-end="2173">Band 6–level experience working with adults in an acute hospital setting (or above).</p> </li> <li data-start="2174" data-end="2279"> <p data-start="2176" data-end="2279">Relevant postgraduate CPD and training aligned with acute adult Speech and Language Therapy practice.</p> </li> <li data-start="2280" data-end="2396"> <p data-start="2282" data-end="2396">HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).</p> </li> <li data-start="2397" data-end="2468"> <p data-start="2399" data-end="2468">Strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills.</p> </li> <li data-start="2469" data-end="2509"> <p data-start="2471" data-end="2509">Previous NHS experience (desira ...
