Medical Coding Team Lead

Job Title: Coding Team Lead Schedule: • Full-time • Monday to Friday • Must work Mountain Time (MST) Role Summary: The Coding Team Lead supports production coders through quality reviews, audit processes, workflow stabilization, and handling first-line escalations, while maintaining an active coding workload. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance within the revenue cycle. It requires strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to support coder development through feedback and communication. Note: This is not a managerial position. Responsibilities: • Perform production medical coding across required specialties • Conduct internal quality reviews, including spot-checks and trend-based audits • Validate correct CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and modifier usage • Review provider documentation for completeness and template accuracy • Identify billing and bundling issues and escalate appropriately • Prepare audit summaries for Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) leadership • Provide coder feedback based on audit findings • Act as first-line escalation for complex coding questions, documentation concerns, and recurrent errors • Immediately escalate compliance concerns Qualifications: Required: • Active AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) • Minimum 5 years of multi-specialty production coding experience (time may be flexible for candidates with strong leadership and relevant specialties) • Prior experience conducting internal audits or peer reviews • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Demonstrated leadership experience (essential) Preferred: • Experience with AdvancedMD (AMD) • Exposure to multi-provider and multi-location practices • Experience in these core priority specialties: • Podiatry (highest priority) • Vascular • Pain Management • Wound Care • Family Practice as a general foundation • Experience supporting provider education or standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation (valuable for future scalability) #Solvo #LI-PROMOTED
