Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world.</p> <p>Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.</p></div><p><strong>About the Role: </strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to design and launch geospatial web applications that transform satellite data into mission-critical intelligence. You will help build our next-generation monitoring platform, designed to provide near real-time observability of any location on Earth.</p> <p>While our foundation includes environmental and agricultural monitoring, we are rapidly expanding our core capabilities to support Defense Intelligence (DI) and Global Monitoring Services. You will play a key role in evolving this platform into a scalable system built for both tactical decision-making and global-scale analytics.</p> <p>You bring a track record of designing sophisticated, data-heavy geospatial applications, ideally featuring AI-powered tools or complex enterprise data visualization. You will help shape a frontend architecture that remains performant and intuitive for everything from regional security assessments to global resource management.</p> <p>This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in our Berlin, Haarlem, Graz or Ljubljana offices.</p> <p><strong>Impact You’ll Own:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Product Design Ownership: Lead the end-to-end process from discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity design.</li> <li>GIS Interface Design: Create intuitive, powerful geospatial interfaces that translate complex data into actionable insights.</li> <li>User Research: Gather feedback and conduct user interviews in close collaboration with product partners.</li> <li>UI Architecture: Define and architect the interaction patterns and design system for Planet’s monitoring platform.</li> <li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering to ensure top-tier design quality.</li> <li>Culture: Help build and elevate Planet's design culture.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience designing complex digital products, especially bringing new technical, SaaS, or B2B products to market.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in design or an equivalent field.</li> <li>End-to-end experience: taking projects from early ideation to live software, and iterating based on feedback.</li> <li>Proficiency in Figma and enterprise design systems.</li> <li>A solid portfolio demonstrating complex professional projects, your process, and the resulting impact.</li> <li>Experience conducting lightweight user research and usability testing, synthesizing findings into actionable improvements.</li> <li>A solid core skillset: UX/UI, interaction design, rapid prototyping, accessibility, and visual design principles.</li> <li>Ability to work quickly in undefined and ambiguous environm ...
