<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Corporate</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee and monitor Board of Directors’ activities, ensuring strict compliance with all statutory guidelines, the Companies Act, and relevant laws governing corporate governance.</li><li>Ensure timely convening and lawful conduct of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other statutory meetings, adhering to prescribed timelines and legal requirements.</li><li>Oversee accurate and timely filing of all statutory returns and regulatory submissions (including those to MCA and other regulators), rigorously monitoring deadlines to mitigate compliance risks.</li><li>Organize and administer Board and committee meetings end-to-end, issue meeting notifications, prepare agendas, draft resolutions, record and finalize minutes, and coordinate access to records for internal and statutory auditors or inspectors.</li></ul><p><strong>Employment</strong></p><ul><li>Provide expert legal advice on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee exits, benefits, and contractual workforce matters.&#xa0; Monitor labour law developments in APMEA locations where Freshworks has personnel and advise the business on these developments with practical solutions.</li><li>Draft, review, and update employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and HR policies in compliance with Indian and global employment laws.</li><li>Manage personnel-related investigations and disputes, including providing oversight and advice to HR teams. Must have experience with anti-harassment (POSH) processes and committees.&#xa0; Ensure company-wide legal compliance across labor laws, anti-harassment (POSH), anti-retaliation, whistleblower, and data privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA) as applicable.</li><li>Partner closely with HR to develop proactive policies, conduct legal training, and ensure seamless implementation of new regulatory requirements.</li><li>Support initiatives to drive positive employee relations and engagement, upholding an ethical and compliant workplace culture.</li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement scalable, best-practice personnel policies, processes, and training programs, ensuring alignment and compliance across all regional HR teams.</li></ul> <ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> LL.B. from a recognized university.</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> 6–9 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and employment counsel roles with multinational, technology-driven, or public listed companies.</li><li><strong>Expertise:</strong> Demonstrated expertise in Indian company law, labor and employment law, corporate secretarial practices, and experience across major international regulatory frameworks.</li><li><strong>Employment &amp; Governance:</strong> Significant experience drafting, negotiating, and interpreting commercial and employment contracts, policies, and governance documents. Proven track record supporting board governance, statutory compliance, and regulatory filings. Exposure to cross-border compliance environments and multi-jurisdictional workforce management.</li><li>Experience advising leadership and HR teams on employee relations, policy implementation, investigations, and regulatory changes.</li></ul><p><strong>&#xa0;Competencies</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Technical Skills:</strong> Deep understanding of relevant legal frameworks (corporate governance, employment law, company secretarial standards, labor regulations, anti-harassment, data privacy).</li><li><strong>Analytical Skills</strong>: Excellent risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
