Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.What You Will Be Doing:The Hazardous Waste Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible management of hazardous waste materials generated at Helion Energy’s facilities. This position supports day-to-day waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal processes while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Sr. Manager of EHS at our Everett, WA office.You Will:Collect, segregate, label, and store hazardous waste (chemical and universal) in accordance with RCRA, WAC, and Washington State Department of Ecology guidelinesAssist with inspections of hazardous waste accumulation areas to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standardsMaintain accurate inventory and waste tracking documentation using internal and regulatory reporting systemsCoordinate with external vendors for waste transportation and final disposalSupport emergency response activities for spills or releases of hazardous materialsWork closely with EHS team to implement and improve hazardous waste management proceduresProvide training and guidance to staff on proper waste handling practicesParticipate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as requiredRequired Skills:Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, industrial hygiene, or related fieldHAZWOPER 40-hour certificationExperience in a research, energy, or advanced manufacturing environmentMinimum 2 years of experience in hazardous waste handling, environmental services, or a related roleKnowledge of RCRA, DOT, Washington State Department of Ecology, Washington State L&I regulationsAbility to wear PPE, including respirators, hearing protection and lift up to 50 lbsStrong attention to detail, documentation skills, and commitment to safety#LI-TM1 #LI-OnsiteBenefitsOur total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to:• Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families • 31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days) • 10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break • Up to 5% employer 401(k) match • Short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance • Paid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks) • Annual wellness stipendHelion is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
