Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.What You Will Be Doing:Helion is seeking a Facilities Staff Engineer (Mechanical) to join our growing Facilities team. In this role, you'll be the primary engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and owning the mechanical systems that power Helion's facilities. From HVAC and utilities to specialized building systems, you'll set the standard for how our environments are designed, built, and maintained.You'll work closely with partners in operations, EH&S, Production and engineering to ensure our buildings are safe, reliable, and efficient. This role blends hands-on engineering with project leadership — ideal for someone who thrives on taking complex projects from concept through completion in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities at our Everett, WA office.You Will:Own the design, performance, and lifecycle of mechanical systems, including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, exhaust, and other utilitiesEstablish and maintain standards for mechanical infrastructure across new and existing sitesLead facility mechanical projects — from scope and design through construction, commissioning, and operationsTroubleshoot system issues and drive continuous improvement in reliability, sustainability, and cost efficiencyManage contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure quality and compliance with technical and safety requirementsPartner with EH&S to maintain compliance with codes, permitting, and environmental regulationsContribute to long-term facilities planning to support Helion's expansionRequired Skills:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)5+ years of experience in facilities, building systems engineering, or mechanical infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of HVAC, utilities, plumbing, and building automation systemsProven ability to own projects end-to-end, balancing technical depth with executionExperience collaborating with contractors, design teams, and permitting authoritiesStrong communication skills and ability to partner across technical and non-technical teamsResourceful, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment#LI-Onsite #LI-MM1BenefitsOur total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to:• Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families • 31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days) • 10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break • Up to 5% employer 401(k) match • Short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance • Paid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks) • Annual wellness stipendHelion is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
