Job Description
We’re looking for a Reception Security Officer who will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, security, and professional image of our company. Based full-time in our Zurich office, this position operates on a two-shift rotation, Monday to Friday: Shift 1 (07:00–13:30) and Shift 2 (13:30–20:00), with an overlap from 13:00–14:00 to ensure seamless handover and peak-hour coverage.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing physical access control, visitor management, parcel and delivery intake, and front-of-house security. You’ll work closely with the Head of Security and the broader Security Team, serving as the first line of defense for our facilities and the people within them.
Responsibilities and Duties
Ambiguity: Day-to-day procedures are clearly defined. You apply sound judgment when situations fall outside standard protocols and escalate appropriately. Calm, professional response to the unexpected is essential.
Tools technical knowledge: Electronic access control systems, CCTV/surveillance monitoring software, visitor management platforms, parcel and delivery logging tools, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, telephone and intercom systems.
Independence: You work independently during your shift, owning the front desk, all access points and the parcel and delivery intake process without direct supervision.
Scope: Full ownership of site security during your shift at Zurich HQ. Covers all visitor flows, parcel and delivery intake and logging, badge management and access events.
Complexity: Structured routine operations with occasional high-pressure situations — unauthorized access attempts, emergency response, VIP visits, unannounced or suspicious deliveries — requiring calm, professional decision-making.
Impact: Directly protects Auterion staff, senior leadership, intellectual property and physical assets. Your role is a foundational element of Auterion's company-wide security posture and feeds directly into the global Security Team.
Cross-functional partners: People Team (badge management), Facilities, IT (access system coordination), Executive Team (VIP and leadership visit coordination), external vendors, couriers, delivery services and service providers.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in a reception, security, hospitality or customer-facing role in a corporate environment
No specific degree required; professional training in security, hospitality or a related field is a plus
Experience with electronic access control systems is a plus
Experience with CCTV monitoring and basic surveillance operations
Proficiency with visitor management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Fluent in English – written and spoken (company language)
Professional communication and interpersonal skills; confident, calm and composed under pressure
Clean criminal record (background check required)
CH/EU citizenship required
