The QA team works closely with Technical Operations and Engineering Leadership to deliver high quality solutions and as such requires excellent communication technical skills.</p> <p>As a Staff <strong>Software Engineer in Test</strong>, you aren’t just "testing infrastructure"—you are our first line of defense. You will own the quality and resilience of our world class<strong> SaaS platform</strong>, ensuring that our 99.99% uptime is unshakeable as traffic hits our services.</p> <p>An ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about automation appling those automation skills in testing cloud native software in a fast-paced agile environment while partnering with cloud Infrastructure operations teams. Okta engineering strongly believes in automated testing, and an iterative process to build high-quality next generation software.</p> <p><strong>Experience with implementing AI/ML solutions in the testing domain will be a big plus!</strong></p> <p><strong>Please note this is an </strong><strong><em>operations</em></strong><strong> focused role</strong><strong>.</strong></p> <p> </p> <h3><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Work with multiple teams in the Scrum/Agile environment within the Cloud Operations domain.</li> <li>Provide Quality Assurance and Testing Services to our SREs (Site Reliability Engineers) and cross functional teams.</li> <li>Interface with SREs, Product Management Customer Support teams.</li> <li>Build tools to facilitate QA/testing tasks therefore removing manual effort - we wage war against manual testing.</li> <li>Conduct functional and non-functional testing of software applications and systems.</li> <li>Develop and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts.</li> <li>Participate in the software development process to identify defects and ensure timely resolution.</li> <li>Collaborate with developers to reproduce and diagnose software issues.</li> <li>Identify areas for improvement in the software development process.</li> <li>Learn new technologies and techniques to stay current with industry trends and advancements.</li> <li>Provide<strong> on-call support</strong> for our SaaS platform.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h3><strong>Job Duties:</strong></h3> <p> </p> <p>Major areas of responsibility include:</p> <ul> <li>Provide <strong>on-call support </strong>(non customer facing) for our high availability SaaS platform</li> <li>Provide assurance for infrastructure changes going into production by reviewing process and determining impact on production</li> <li>Review infrastructure requirements and design related test plans and test cases</li> <li>Develop automation plans and write test code to execute the plan</li> <li>Work with engineering management to scope and plan engineering efforts</li> <li>Work closely with the team to evangelize optimal quality practices </li> <li>Participate in the design and implementation of reliable cloud components</li> <li>Enhance and maintain existing test automation and CM frameworks</li> <li>Continuously review and optimize test coverage</li> <li>Interface with Development, Architects and Technical Ope ...
