Staff Software Engineer

<p><strong>Role Overview </strong></p> <p>As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling our core platform. You will work across the full stack — from our <strong>PHP</strong> backend to our modern <strong>React</strong> frontends — and help drive the evolution of our <strong>AWS</strong>-based cloud infrastructure. </p> <p>This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll be expected to deliver high-quality code, mentor engineers, lead technical initiatives, and partner closely with product and design teams to deliver business impact. </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Architecture Design:</strong> Lead design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across PHP backend, React frontend, and AWS infrastructure. </li> <li><strong>Technical Leadership: </strong>Own complex features end-to-end; influence technical direction; set best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD. </li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration:</strong> Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with product strategy. </li> <li><strong>Mentorship Growth:</strong> Coach engineers at multiple levels, provide technical guidance, and help shape the engineering culture. </li> <li><strong>Cloud Infrastructure: </strong>Ensure our systems are performant and reliable on AWS, leveraging services like RDS, ECS/Lambda, S3, CloudFront, etc.<strong> </strong></li> <li><strong>Continuous Improvement:</strong> Identify areas of technical debt and drive initiatives to improve performance, security, scalability, and developer experience. </li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 12+ years in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a senior or staff-level role. </li> <li><strong>Backend Expertise:</strong> Deep knowledge of PHP (modern frameworks, e.g. Laravel/Symfony, or large-scale monoliths). Strong MySQL or relational database design skills. </li> <li><strong>Frontend Expertise: </strong>Proficiency in React, TypeScript, modern frontend tooling. Experience building scalable, maintainable UIs. </li> <li><strong>Cloud DevOps: </strong>Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, ECS/Lambda, S3, CloudFront, IAM, networking). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).</li> <li><strong>System Design: </strong>Proven ability to design and scale SaaS, multi-tenant or multi-db architectures. </li> <li><strong>Leadership: </strong>Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading technical discussions, and influencing product direction. </li> <li><strong>Soft Skills: </strong>Strong communication, ability to work cross-functionally, customer-centric mindset. Nice to Have </li> <li>Experience with <strong>multi-tenant SaaS platforms</strong>. </li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>API design</strong> and integration patterns (<strong>REST/GraphQL</strong>). </li> <li>Exposure to microservices or modular monolith evolution. </li> <li>Background in hospitality, travel, or property management systems.</li> </ul>
