We value curiosity, communication, collaboration, a customer focused mindset and a drive for results.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a <strong>Mechanical Engineering Intern</strong> to join our small but passionate team of Hardware engineers working on cloud-based bioreactor control and monitoring platform. As an intern, you will play a critical role in <strong>designing, building, and testing hardware</strong> that are reliable and robust.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in design of mechanical components and systems </li> <li>Work closely w/ senior engineers and scientists in research/ experimentation </li> <li>Support testing and validation activities</li> <li>Collaborate in cross functional teams across disciplines. </li> <li>Learn about fermentation, cell culture, and biotechnology.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are between your junior and senior years in a university or college </li> <li>Currently pursuing a BS in ME or similar</li> <li>Knowledge of ME design principles and CAD SW (Onshape a plus)</li> <li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Some familiarization with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing.</li> <li>Some project experience in making parts.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with other 3D CAD tools (Solidworks, PTC, NX)</li> <li>Basic skills and interest in prototyping and fabrication.</li> <li>Data analysis and writing technical reports.</li> <li><strong>Note:</strong> Technical guidance will be provided, and a tech lead will offer support and supervision to help you succeed in this role.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience in <strong>testing a cloud-based biotech platform</strong>.</li> <li>Work closely with a <strong>small, passionate team</strong> of experienced engineers.</li> <li>Gain exposure to <strong>product development workflows</strong>.</li> </ul> <p>Contribute to systems that have a direct impact on <strong>biotech and research innovation</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Location Schedule: <br></strong></p> <ul> <li>This is an onsite position. We’re looking for someone based in the San Francisco Bay Area who is able to work in person at our office in South San Francisco.</li> <li>The duration of this internship is 3 months.</li> <li>Relocation/housing assistance will NOT be provided.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Base Salary Range<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>This is a paid internship and this role is $35 - $40 an hour. The hourly rate for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.</li> </ul> </div> </div>
